Air Farmers Ltd is committed to the expansion of wind energy in order to help fossil fuel based economies transform into low-carbon economies, sustained by clean and renewable energy.
We are working closely with local government, landowners, local communities and environmental groups to develop wind energy projects which help government achieve their goals. We seek to develop environmentally responsible projects that bring the benefits of clean and safe renewable energy.
In the Queen's speech of 2007, the UK government introduced a new Energy Bill for 2008, to "drive greater and more rapid deployment of renewables in the UK", helping to transform the UK into a low-carbon economy that becomes ever less dependent upon unstable regions of the world for its energy supplies.
According to the DTI website:
"The Energy Bill, alongside the Planning and Climate Change Bills, will ensure our legislation underpins the long term delivery of our energy and climate change strategy."
The UK government has set a target of 10% of the UK's electricity from indigenous renewable energy sources by 2010, increasing to 20% by 2020.
